Initially, Don’t give Up was an idea for a project, displaying signs saying Don’t Give Up all around the city, illustrating that someone somewhere cares about what happens to you.
Covering both Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health issues, we all agreed that this was a perfect theme for 2020. Little did we know at the beginning of the year what challenges we would be facing. It is even more apparent now how important this idea is. We can not let up at any level, be it advocacy, pushing for legislation for change or showing up to help those in need, we must remain committed to the cause!
Funding at a national and local level, education and prevention programs, improved healthcare for those in need and perseverance toward ending stigma are all important to keep the momentum alive.
